Four Great Baby Shower Games

Five great baby shower games to play at your shower.

Baby shower games are fun to play and they really keep the party going. If you’re in the process of planning a baby shower, you’re going to need to plan some baby shower games along with it.

Don’t know what games to play? Worry not! Patti the Perfect Party Planner to the rescue once again with baby shower games that are sure to keep your guests smiling the entire party through.

Baby Shower Games #1 -- The Dirty Diaper Game

This is one of my favorites. To prepare for the diaper game, get enough small newborn diapers to have one for each guest.

Mark one of the diapers on the inside with brown paint to make it the “dirty diaper”. As each guest comes to the party, hand them one diaper. Then, during the party tell everyone to open their diapers. The one who has the dirty diaper wins a prize. It really is a cute and fun way to get the party rolling.

Baby Shower Games #2 -- My Water Broke

To play “My Water Broke” you’ll need to get ice cube trays and little tiny plastic babies (available at many party supply stores or online). Put a baby in each compartment of the ice cube tray and then fill the trays with water and make ice cubes.

During the party, fill the glasses with the ice cubes. As the ice melts, the babies will begin to break free of the ice cubes. The guest whose baby breaks free first wins the game.

Baby Shower Games #3 -- The Clothespin Game

With this game, you give each guest a clothespin at the beginning of the party. When one guest overhears another guest saying the word “baby”, they get to take that guests clothespin. The guest who has the most clothespins at the end of the party wins the game.

Baby Shower Games #4 -- Pin the Pacifier on the Baby

Like the age-old game of pin the tail on the donkey, pin the pacifier on the baby is another version. To play, you’ll need a large poster of a baby and a pacifier attached to ribbon and a pin. Guests take turns being blindfolded and trying to pin the pacifier on the baby. The guest who pins the pacifier closest to the baby’s mouth wins the game.
